Manakish
School project to create branding and ads for a theoretical Manakish shop that would open in East Lansing, MI.
School group project. Students were asked to create a theoretical manakish restaurant in East Lansing. A manakish is a food from Lebanon that is very popular, similar in popularity and consumption to bagels in the U.S. They are made with a flat pita-like bread and few toppings such as thyme, oregano, and sesame seeds. They're baked and eaten for a quick and healthy on-the-go meal.
Our messaging focused on fresh, natural ingredients that were naturally sourced. I took all the ingredient photography and was responsible for the guerrilla marketing idea and all art direction. The guerrilla marketing idea highlighted our ingredient freshness and the fact that we locally source our ingredients by creating a community garden in East Lansing close to our proposed restaurant location. Community members can plant and help tend to the ingredients that are used to cook the manakish they eat and enjoy.
